Last week at work our HR person approached me and asked if she could get a photo of me and put it on the wall because I was a veteran. I politely declined, and informed her that I spent three years in the military painting a ship grey, over and over and over. I told her that I, although considered a veteran, have not and will not compare to the individuals that have fought for our freedom. I said that deck grey paint will NOT make me a hero or even someone who is proud of being in the military. I salute all who have fought in any war, foreign or domestic, that have given their lives, their sound minds, and having to know the difference between what is considered right or wrong in the eyes of the world. I salute any airman, seaman, solder, marine and coast guard personnel. I thank you all for giving me this day.
