Last week both groups made their third expedition to Third Creek - TopicsExpress

Last week both groups made their third expedition to Third Creek at the local Nightingale Reserve. This time there was some water in the creek! The children found many aspects of this natural environment to explore. Some floated leaves and sticks under the bridge and down the stream, others experimented with what happens when you throw stones of different sizes into the water. We collected interesting things in our specimen containers to bring back to kindergarten. The children worked together to solve problems. When our specimen jar lids fell into the water and floated away we had to rescue them. It was tricky to manipulate the sticks to catch the lids. Some children leant over the bank at just the right spot and time to catch one. One of the girls had rubber boots so carefully stepped into the stream to help. Thanks to Campbeltown Councils Opal everythings brighter outside campaign for the lovely maps each child took home. These will help families find child friendly local parks.
