Last week, in its FY2015 Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations bill, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a $41 million funding program to help communities across the country #endthebacklog—$5 million more than initially proposed, thanks to an amendment from Congressman Steve Cohen of Tennessee. And just today, the Senate Appropriations Committee has proposed funding at the same level. Thats $6 million above what the White House initially proposed—in both houses.
