Last week my family made a visit to the Mall of Georgia. As we walked into the food court Hudson was riding on my shoulders while Hadli ran on up ahead. She turned the corner by the elevators and stopped dead in her tracks to curiously stare at something. As I caught up with her, who she was staring at came into view. She was a classy looking middle aged lady who had long hair, moderate make up and jewelry on, and was dressed modestly from head to toe. My four year old looked up at me and asked, do we know her? I laughed and said no but for just a moment I glanced at the women around me from a four year old girls point of view. I didnt see many role models. We dont make Hadli dress like a pilgrim nor do we teach her to be condescending towards others who dont live by our standards but in her innocent mind, full of memories of all the ladies from all the churches we have been in, she saw a light shining in this lady that she recognized as different from all the rest of that malls women and she just knew we had to be friends with that lady! We dont have to be weird but we ought to be different. Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
