Last week the Queen visited Balmoral. Never to miss an opportunity, Mr Salmond managed to arrange to visit and have a brief dialogue with Her Majesty. AS: Your Majesty, lovey to see you again, I hope you are keeping well. Thank you for taking the time to see me, I have an important issue I would like to discuss. HM: Hello Mr Salmond. Im fine thank you. Now what would you like to discuss? AS: Well as you know we are in the final stages of the referendum campaign and we are gaining ground. We may even win! Of course it is not our policy to seek to become a republic. We still want to use your elegant image on our money (whatever form it may take). However the crucial question I need to know the answer to is what or country will be called? HM: Im not quite sure what you mean Mr Salmond. AS: Well once we become independent, will we be a Kingdom, which will, you know, make me a King? HM: No Mr Salmond, that is not possible. AS: Well what about a Principality? Could we be a Principality, thus making me a Prince? HM: No Mr Salmond, Im afraid that wont work either. AS: Well what will we be then? HM: I think you will simply remain a country...
