Last week this guy showed up in my news feed and he was at Sabine shelter! Not sure why I said it but at the moment I was caught up in her beauty so I told them I wanted to meet him...well within hours I had a family interested in him however I wasnt quite sure an neither were they due to his leg and the possibility of him needing an expensive surgery immediately! So we discussed it and decided it probably wasnt the best fit(which they adopted cocoa today so it was meant that way) I got busy looking for help for him as I knew that I couldnt possibly give him all he would need and my pack I was afraid would end up causing him more injury to the foot. Kendra Lemoine is the lady whom I go to for any dane questions and I did as well as calling on a few others whom I know adore the breed...but Kendra not only came to my aid she went above and beyond and found me someone who was capable of taking him and doing more than I could with a broader reach and more experience! Well Marissa DeSoza sent me a message and agreed to take him and immediately called their vet to find out what his surgery would cost...well as expected $2900 and he would receive surgery and rehab as well as all he needed to regain his life without pain! She started a fund raiser for him and she let me know at 2:44 today that they had raised $300 so far..she then messaged me less than an hour later at 3:24 today to let me know that one lady had paid for his entire surgery in full as a pay it forward because in the past when she adopted her dane someone else had paid for his as well! There is nothing more amazing than a kind and loving heart for our rescues and theres also nothing more amazing than rescues who work together to save those who need us most! It is never about us but always about them and making sure they are safe and cared for. So a huge thank you to everyone who has helped this boy and he will now need to get from me to Baton Rouge ASAP so if you can help please let me know as I cant drive far with my back the way it is right now but I want him to get there asap and begin his new life and road to recovery!
