Last week was the 20th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women - TopicsExpress

Last week was the 20th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act, a law that helps keep women across the country safe from domestic abuse. Since its inception, VAWA has helped reduce the rates of domestic violence by more than 50%. I was disappointed and shocked last year when Representative Tom Cotton voted against reauthorizing this bill- not once, but twice. He was the only Arkansan in Congress to vote against it! Senator Mark Pryor, on the other hand, co-sponsored the Violence Against Women Act. He fought to make sure law enforcement and agencies in Arkansas have resources to help victims of domestic violence. The choice this election is clear for me. Im voting for Mark Pryor because of the stand he has taken for and with Arkansas women.
