Last week, we also saw the coming together and merger of two wind energy associations into one -- Indian Wind Energy Alliance (IWEA). IWEA now becomes a single voice for the wind industry. I had the opportunity of launching it and answering several questions raised by wind energy entrepreneurs -- both developers as well as component manufacturers. This government aims to increase wind energy installations from 21 GW currently to 60 GW by 2019 (a 3 fold increase in 5 years, translating to 25% CAGR), and is committed to build the enabling mechanisms for achieving this magnitude of growth.
