Last week we had temperatures in the mid forties to low fifties during the daytime. As a matter of fact, when we returned from Michigan last weekend, it was warm enough for us to go out and plant some spring flower bulbs as the ground wasn’t frozen. The cornfield behind the house was so muddy that I was afraid to drive my 4 wheel drive truck out there to check trail cameras. That shouldn’t be a problem today. When I went down to the barn for morning chores, it was 8.9 degrees outside. That’s cold enough to make me have to chip the horse manure off the floor of the stall before I can shovel it into the wheelbarrow. On the positive side, manure doesn’t have an odor when it’s frozen. Thank the Lord I have fleece lined blue jeans. Since I’m originally from Wisconsin, and I used to go to many Green Bay Packer games at Lambeau Field, I will consider this as a “mildly chilly day”.
