Last week, we implemented a few minor changes in how we assign lanes and verify scores. Id like to end the rumor mill that this has to do with cheating- it has to do with us running the fairest and most efficient tournament possible. Please use this thread to discuss the pros and cons of the changes. Why are we semi-randomly assigning lanes? Among the reasons is: 1) we want different people to mix and mingle, not the same people on the same pairs all the time (isnt that boring anyway?); 2) we dont want some bowlers teaming up more than random draw allows to break down pairs; 3) we dont want people with knowledge of certain pairs to be able to avoid them when others cant more than random draw would allow; 4) if issues of fouls, score corrections, etc. comes up, we need pairs to be of fellow competitors, not friends that will agree with anything their friends say; 5) we cant think of any other tournament that lets you choose your lanes AND who is on your lanes, and were supposed to be practice for other tournaments. This is just part of our logic, but were open to dissenting opinions. Discuss!
