Last week, we removed this replica of the world’s first liquid fuel rocket from the “Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall” at the Museum in Washington, DC, along with two other rockets and an experiment designed by Robert Goddard. The original liquid fuel rocket was launched by Goddard in March of 1926 on a flight that lasted 2.5-seconds, reached an altitude of 12.5 meters (41 feet), and covered a distance of 56 meters (184 feet). Since no blueprints exist, our replica is based upon original photographs.
