Last weekend I had lunch with a couple of friends I met over the summer. That statement in itself means nothing. What was so wonderful, as one of them pointed out, is that we had all met on one continent, both travelled and came from different continents and we were having a lunch on a third. I bring this up because I often speak about the need to network and the importance of diversity. Look around you. Does everyone look the same, sound the same and think the same. If you are nodding your head, I encourage you to be bold this weekend and expand your network. Ask the opinion of a person who isnt a friend. Work on a project with someone new. Introduce yourself to a stranger. Send an email to that person that you always wanted to ask to be your mentor. Just take the first step!
