Last weekend I had my shows at The Vagabond Ballroom, in which I played Circling live in its entirety, with aerial and dance performers. It was the most elaborate production Ive ever undertaken. First and foremost, thank you to Bunny Holmes for generously opening up her space, helping coordinate with other performers and their rigging, and of course offering a fantastic silks performance to Beauty Over Industry. I was *extremely fortunate* to have all these extremely skilled performers share the stage with me! In addition to Bunny, there was Danielle Funkadelica, who performed on aerial ladder to Nightmares; Audrey Penven, who performed on static trapeze to Long Long Shadows; Cindy Iijima on chains to Sirens of Titan; and IrinaXara Dance who came up from SoCal and danced to Specimen. We couldnt have done this without Kevin Schieberl who came up both nights to run sound & hand me my banjo at scheduled times, my bff Laura Perlin who did merch both nights, Remington Stone who helped set up the space and worked door on Friday, Katie Flynn who worked the door on Saturday, Sean OBrien who brought me food and provided moral support on Friday, Boogie Man who helped stay to clean up on Saturday, and Zach Cohen and friends Nicole and Santiago who made delicious cocktails. Oh and Bunnys housemates who let us put on this crazy shindig. Terri Brindisi took some fabulous pictures of the event and John Ashton-Keller is working on video from Saturday night. Both nights were sold out -- and Id been afraid no one would come! They werent sold out until 1-2 days before the event, for future reference, but I had to tell people without tickets not to come on Saturday, and this performance will never happen again. If you missed the event, you can at least download the album for just $1 at https://unwoman.bandcamp/album/circling (Yesterday all the news plunged into the sad realities of the world and I almost didnt write this update. But people need thanking, because Im still bursting with thanks, and we need to celebrate these personal triumphs, especially when theyre shared.)
