Last weekend Spectrum Cheer travelled to the Sea to Sky International Cheerleading Championship. After many laughs, tears, and COUNTLESS 6am practices in our gym, we were ready to debut our routine. On both Day One and Day Two the team exceeded myself and Mishan Hedges expectations and did exactly what we asked of them.. left their hearts on the mat. Our program, only one year old, placed 4th against mainland teams that have had cheerleading programs for years AND placed highest out of of all Vancouver Island and Alberta teams in their division. We were astounded! Not only did they do amazing on the mat, but off as well. Never have I seen such a group of respectful, positive, and INCREDIBLY hilarious highschoolers. As the person who built this program from just an idea, I couldnt ask for a better group of 29 athletes to be apart of it. Truly a family ♡ Heres a video of the clips I could find from the weekend.. worth watching until the very end ;)
