Last winter , as the day drew to a close, I was driving by a familiar farm, on my way home, when I looked in the broad field next to the road , and saw these two. Screech. (Quietly). I pulled over, got out of the car, and crossed the road , cold cold wind blowing, to go and say hi. The glorious pink nosed Draft horse caught sight of me, and began walking over for a whats up ... the beautiful brown Mare keeping more to herself, but still liking his proximity. Both were just enormous, glossy , healthy, and evidently best friends. His eyes were gentle, his snuffling a warm breath on my palm , , as he stood and watched ,while I pet and spoke to him. ( acupressure happens to be a universal language ). The clouds darkened as they drifted overhead, the light from the sunset glancing across the horizon beneath the clouds, shining upon frozen weeds , fields of cut corn and the Maple trees off in the distance. Later, I had a conversation with someone ( another horse person ) who told me the farmer had refused to sell either horse, and would never separate the pair. His beloved horses . Its always nice to know of anyone being well cared for in the world. Across the street, another of our local Dairy Farms was thick with Starlings, who at that moment chose to murmur their way over the road , and land in the field behind the horses . As my chilled camera began to struggle sluggishly, I began losing feeling in my fingers, my mouth started becoming numb, and I suddenly felt happiness seeping through it all.
