Last year, Robin Williams was answering fan questions during a Sirius XM interview. One person said, what do you think youd be doing if you didnt become a comedian? As was his nature to go into other character persona, Williams began to impersonate the famous and genius physicist Stephen Hawking. As many people know, Hawking speaks through a computer which makes his voice sound very automated. Williams took that to another level by impersonating Mr Hawking getting a lap dance at a strip club. I could picture him following an imaginary dancer with his eyes as I read this story, but the words that followed -- in that Stephen Hawking voice -- were the audio and image that told of Robin Williams quick wit and his own genius. Now dont sit on the keyboard, was all he had to say to combine logic and laughter ... Think about it. When I read that little item a few minutes ago I laughed for the first time since I was told the news of his passing last night. Robin Williams was never one of my favorites, but I realized what kind of talent he had. I remember seeing the debut of Mork on the Happy Days series and how Mork got his own sitcom with Mindy. Williams was very funny on the show and Im quite sure the cast and crew never had a dull moment during filming. His comedy didnt need the foul-mouth trash we hear from so many young comedians today. He was a spark plug waiting to be fired. He was that way on any talk show from Leno to Letterman to the Today show. You would hear, ladies and gentlemen, Robin Williams, and from there he would hit the floor running. I can deal with death and I understand that it will happen to all of us at some point. But this wasnt an aging celebrity who left us peacefully after a glamorous career. This was still a vibrant middle-aged man whom we thought still had so much laughter to give to others. Unfortunately, he no longer had the happiness within himself and he took himself, along with comedic rounds of energy we took for granted along with him. In reality, he was fighting the demons and as happens way too often, the demons won out over him. Mr Williams, I hope you can find peace now and make Heaven a laugh a minute. Good Night Viet Nam and Nanu, Nanu! Rest in Peace, Robin Williams.
