Last year about this time I had been dealing with an eroding, incessant, undiagnosable and insanely itchy dermatitis, most of which permanently scared my face pretty badly. Finally, my neurologist weighed in an put me on Neurontin to help with neuropathies, of which many MS people are plagued. And the Neurontin cured the dermatitis! The actual diagnosis is Neuropathic Dermatitis Circumspecta. I have had to take extremely high doses, increasing as the dermatitis would begin to bloom out of suppression, but it has been about 3 months with no new areas. My upper lip is currently healing from 3 months ago. I share this for anyone who may be dealing with this to offer hope. It took me almost one year of suffering before we basically stumbled upon the appropriate treatment, and I had previously seen respected dermatologists AND had been their case study, but they literally said Jan, we dont know what this is. My years and expertise as an award-winning wound care nurse were for naught, which was self-demeaning for sure. Please share if you want. God bless us Everyone! Thank you.
