Last year at this time I posted all the things I was thankful for and the list was long. As I thought about things I am thankful for this year many of them are the same as they were a year ago. I am very thankful for my family. My wife and kids are really amazing! My wife is an incredible mother to our children and is so selfless it blows me away. She never thinks about herself and would do anything for her family. My kids, each in their own way, find ways to make us proud. Gavin off at University of Wisconsin, and enjoying himself quite a bit while keeping his grades where they belong. Brendon, in eight grade and growing up more and more each day. Keegan, in third grade and kicking cancers butt! Jilly, in first grade and being the sweet loving little girl she is. I am thankful my Mother and and brothers and sisters. My mother for fighting her own battle and living her days the way she wants on her terms. My brothers and sisters (I have eleven so there are too many to mention.) and all my nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews all are an important part of our life! Thank you for all you do for us and for each other! Extended family, In laws and Out laws, cousins, Aunts and Uncles. Thank you for being part of our life. Friends! I have some amazing friends! Thank you for being a friend even though you know how I am. You have been there for us in many ways. Some of you even if you didnt know you were doing it. I can never thank you enough. Thankfully there are too many to mention. For that I am very lucky! Lake Geneva Badgers Youth Football the parents, kids, and fellow coaches who have been so awesome since Keegans diagnosis. (This includes Dave Mikrut.) Along with the youth cheer families you helped us raise $1800 for the MACC fund where Keegan and many other cancer warriors go to clinic! The kids I had the pleasure to coach this year were just a pleasure to coach. These kids worked so hard and did everything we asked and more! Along with the coaching staff, all of whom I would now consider great friends, made this the best year yet! (Thanks for hosting the coaches meetings even during your time away Dave.) The staff at Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin! From the people who greet us to the incredible people in MACC and on HOT who take care of Keegan and the rest of our family! They are so unreal I cant even put it into words! What they do for all the kids and their families is amazing! Especially Bonnie, Meghan, Doctor Nate, Doctor Tower, Anne, Sue, Eric, and Deb! I could go on and on! We can never repay them for all they have done. They are the reason why Keegan is kicking cancers butt! (I am so proud of Keegan for the fight she has fought and continues to fight and thankful she is the fighter she is!) The schools and community we live in. We live in a very giving caring community including neighbors, school staff, police, etc. who continue to show our family love and support. We are truly thankful. Lastly the kids and their families we have met that are all or have gone through a fight that kids should not have to fight and parents should not have to witness. We have become close and now have another family with some of them that will last for a long long time! (Sadly I at first wrote a life time, but because of this journey I have come to know that some lifetimes are way too short.) I have seen incredible strength in kids like, Superman Sam, Jake, Lulu, Pinky, Emma, Evan, Ashliegh, Lily, Katherine, Bryce, Liam, and unfortunately I could go on. A few of these kids have lost their battle and have left a huge void in this world. Thank you all for helping, caring, and showing us what true strength really is!
