Last year my good friend Emma Roca came over to the US to run the #LT100 for the first time and came away with a dominant win. Emma is one of my favorite people in the world. We competed against each other for years at the elite level in adventure racing. While we were always head to head, we also shared a strong bond of friendship and respect as one of the few women in the sport at that time. Emma has done it all. She’s a firefighter, biochemist, author, mother of three and elite athlete in multiple sports including ultra running. Emma and her family came over to the US for a family trip last summer. Emma would race the LT100, her husband David would race the Breck Epic and in between they’d hike and travel around the Western US. They spent a few days in Ketchum, Idaho riding, running and playing with Diesel. Shortly after that, Emma went to @Leadville and put her stamp in the history books. I was so happy for her to reach yet another goal along her fantastic journey. Check out this great interview.
