Last year one of our clients donated a parker cyclone crossbow ($1300) so tracker Rob can carry it in his vehicle just in case one of his clients deer is found alive. Tracker Rob,Mike,Bo,Mark are certified through Mi. DNR so our clients can carry the weapon of season while tracking with a dog. How the process works is as follows. First we have to take your name, number, property location. Then we call the R.A.P. Line and notify them that we are going tracking with our dog and give the dispatch person our info and yours. Once this is done you the hunter can carry your weapon of season day or night while we try and find your deer. Once found alive and identified day or night you can shot it with your bow/crossbow during bow season or your rifle, shotgun, pistol during firearm season. In the end its up to the MDTH tracker if we allow you to carry your weapon. If you are carrying a weapon it can not be loaded or cocked or arrow knocked on the string. If you are carrying a firearm the tracker will carry your bullets. In order to use rob crossbow you must obtain a crossbow license. They are Free! Please ask any questions and we will do our best to answer them. This video is from last year and one of Rob clients was able to take advantage of carrying a weapon while in the presence of a dog. We jumped this buck about .40 of a mile and was able to recognize he was paunch hit and we found him .64 of a mile and we quickly put the deer out of his misery. youtu.be/UBY2sdQ7IwY
