Last year saw over 16,000 instances where people were caught in possession of a knife. Last night, Lord Thomas, the Lord Chief Justice said that longer sentences were the best way to deter knife crime, echoing Justice Secretary Chris Graylings plans for automatic prison sentences for offenders caught twice with a knife. These plans are currently being blocked by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. But should Nick Clegg be blocking these plans at all? Let us know your thoughts on combating knife crime.
