Last year, the F-22 Raptor successfully completed its first operational combat mission as part of a strike package against ISIS targets in Syria. I do not think it was real test since there was no need to assert air superiority and no enemy fighter jets to contend with. Syrias outdated anti-air defence systems had also been successfully penetrated many times with older aircraft. This nonetheless marks a milestone for the worlds most expensive fighter, which has stopped production. The true capabilities of the F-22 Raptor has not yet been shown in real combat operations. It has, however, taken part in numerous exercises and with good results.
