Lata : Romantic Solo song - Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye The movie ‘Guide’ happens to be the crowning peak of S. D. Burman’s partnership with Lata. It had three awesome songs which become very popular and adjusted among the top 20 songs of all time (Source – Outlook magazine January 2006 issue). The artistry in Lata’s voice need not be articulated, however this particular semi classical song from Guide was difficult song to sing, but Lata had sung it outstandingly. Right from the use of Ragga in the style of folk music, to the mesmerizing ‘beats’ of Tabla (played by Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, the noted Santoor expert) and the rhythm of dance, everything is just mind boggling. Written by Shailendra, Dada Burman’s favourite, whom he considered the greatest of all lyricists. Even with limited knowledge of Hindi, SD Burman could fully visualize this song with a tune that was prefect to Lata’s passionate voice. This song is a wonderful audio visual treat for the senses and considered as one of the best song and dance composition in Bollywood movie history.
