Late Night With George Precious Just Found A New Meaning - TopicsExpress

Late Night With George Precious Just Found A New Meaning I have found myself at a complete loss for words this day. I know people go bonkers over thier children, and I guess that I must be mortal like eveyone else. There is a long story about the chair that my exquisite Great Grand Niece is sitting up in today, and I have gone gaga over this picture that her mother took with her Iphone this morning. If art imitates life, then surely, Jenny Cameron Purvis achieved a masterpiece today. Miss Georgia Cameron Purvis recieved my present to her and this is also the day that she fist sat up. The fact that it was in the chair I gave her must mean that she loves it, and when I look at that precious face, I just melt into putty. I would be worthless if I was to be her parent, because I do not have it in me to tell her anything but yes. A Baby Girl. Wow, I am just cooked, and I need to close the shades, as I am beaming so brightly with Joy and Pride. About thirty years ago, I met this old mean woman who had the set of 12 of these chairs. I wanted to buy them, but just could not make the money work. They are Scottish Chippendale, and extremely delicate and about 200 years old. Long story short, The old mean lady passed away, and she left the chairs to her children, and I think they were given in sets of two. I lost track of them after a number of years, and one eveining I was going through local auctions on line, and came upon this one of the chairs. It was cracked and broken, and When I contacted the auction house, they told me that the condition was horrible, but it had been very fine at one time. I was way ahead of them, and was able to purchase the chair for about 100.00 dollars and was thrilled beyond words. This was back in July and I was down at Wrightsville, and I decided that I would be able to fix the chair, and have a new seat placed in it, and have Miss Georgia Camerions Initials monogramed on the seat cover. Certanily it would be a le must for the rest of her life. About the second day of me trying to do this, I decided to send it to a professional and let them do it right as I was making a horrible mess of this effort. I then went and found this wonderful fabirc which is like a Sunbarella finish so it would last, and then took the fabric to be monogramed , but chose to have it done in a shinny nylon so that it too would not discolor and last for a long time. I guess I am a hopeless romatic, and I always love a story, and it always has to have meaning, but at the end of this day, I have a Scottish Chippendale Georgian Chair, for my Great Grand Neice Georgia Cameron Purvis, from her Oh so honored Namesake, George R. McNeill. Although it took a village to get this poor old chair back to its former glory, It was a worthy effort, and when you see her initials monogramed in the chair bottom, and the princess crown on top, well, It may be just about too cute for words. If you happen to ride by the beltline , and I come up with some crazy money , you may see a billboard all in lights wih this exquisite picture on it to warm the hearts of maybe every soul on this good earth. A smile and a day I will never forget, Much Love, Great Uncle George, to Georiga George
