Late last night, I talked a young girl that goes to Madisons school out of committing suicide. Madison has unselfishly given this girl her attention and time throughout her 8th grade school year. Madison recognized that she got made fun of a lot and so this girl started opening up to Madison about her feelings. She reached out to Madison last night at one of her lowest points and Madison as usual talked to her about God and how suicide is not the answer. Madison got me involved when the girl seemed to not be changing her mind. I dont know what this young girls home life is like but she did not want her parents to know she was suicidal. So I also talked to her about how precious life is and there is no issue big enough in our lives that God cant handle. The girl was very grateful and texted saying Madison & I saved her life last night. We are picking her up tonight and she is going to a church youth function with Madison. Please pray for this girl. It baffles me how much depression and suicide are so prominent among our youth and seems like the only way out anymore. I got made fun of in grade school too but never once contemplated suicide. Im no doctor but Im led to believe that exposure to all types of social media, poor physical health which leads to poor mental health, and the absence of God in the home are all factors to blame here. So proud of Madi for being a true testimony of faith and love to others!
