Lately I have been consumed with the nearby fire, as I know many people impacted by this event, so I have not been following much else on Facebook. When you witness the destruction of nature on such a scale and the power of a wildfire it tends to make you feel helpless. It has been trying times for many here locally, not knowing what the future holds for them. I am concerned about the long term effects on the local economy, as this event will undoubtedly have a great impact on tourism overall. No matter what the outcome, the spirit of the mountains lives on, the people will rebuild, the forest will return, and we will again have a place and a community to be proud of.
