Lately I have been to a number of events where the status of refugees is discussed. One question that is repeatedly raised is what about Christians in need of protection? Why do we not hear more about how Christians are persecuted? Why is more not done to help? Why are they not a priority? Why not more is done and why Christians are not a priority is not easy to answer. How can you possibly choose between a Christian and say a Muslim both of whom are tortured and in extreme danger? Are we not all equal? If you look at the number of refugees that are Christian and resettled, their numbers may be lower just because there are fewer of them. But it is time to stand up and sponsor a refugee into Canada. I came across a show on Vision TV. This is part of their War on Faith Series, Extremism Exposed. One of the shows is entitled Persecuted Christians and looks at Egyptian and Iraqi Christian refugees. It is worth taking the time to watch this show and learn what some Christians are subject to.
