Lately, I have had some complaints that I just skim over topics without getting into the details. Cant imagine anyone complaining about my diatribes arent long enough! Well, here are some details regarding the latest Jobs Report... hope it has enough detail for you! When the jobs report came out last week the Media told us the New Unemployment rate was 6.1%, Not mentioned was the fact that it was the U-1 number. That does not include all the people who have lost all their unemployment benefits and have given up looking for a job. What you heard was there were 288,000 new jobs created. of those 288,000 jobs, 275,000 of those new jobs were Part time jobs. That is a job where you work 30 hours a week or less. Coincidentally, 30 hours a week is the Magic number, where the Employer doesnt have to mess with Obamacare. So the majority of those new hires will have NO health insurance. The other number you didnt hear about was how many people gave up looking for work and so are not counted in the Unemployment number... there were 523,000 people in that category, who gave up THIS MONTH. That is almost double the number of people who got jobs. To put he whole thing in focus for you the true Unemployment numbers are in a category of the U-6. This number includes all those people who are not only unemployed but have given up looking for work and no longer have Unemployment benefits; that number is 12.1%. The Government doesnt advertise that number. It reflects what is called The Work Force Participation Rate That rate is the lowest number since 1978, back in the Carter Administration. Only 63% of employable age or Able Bodied Workers are employed. That is NO Recovery... there are over 90,000,000 Americans unemployed but you dont hear about. The Government doesnt want you know. Oh the young people are really hurting, Those between 16 & 24 years old, their Unemployment rate is 21%. You can get all these numbers in the monthly Jobs report.
