Lately Ive been thinking about music therapy and how different - TopicsExpress

Lately Ive been thinking about music therapy and how different sounds as well as beats, tempos, and keys effect mental health and physical wellbeing. Ive thought about potentially doing my own experiment involving listening to certain music genres/groups and journaling thoughts, emotions and physical feelings (ie. Tightening in the chest, goosebumps, accelerated heartbeat, etc.). My hypothesis is that listening to music based purely off instrumentals will show happier thoughts and feelings with more upbeat songs that you find in ska, pop and certain alternative groups, calm and neutral with slow rock and alternative, and more amped up, adrenaline fueled with hard rock, rap and other genres with heavier instrumental influences. Of course, going off of what happens with instrumentals, wed then go off of tones of voices, pitches, keys, and words being said (if any at all). Although it may not go as planned, Im curious as to what others may find. I feel that music can be a secure place for many people and I think that we can all be fairly similar with experiences and feelings in this experiment despite our differences in music tastes.
