Lately it seems #PTSD is a word that gets thrown around these days very casully by people who really have no idea what they are saying, dont really know anyone with PTSD or just dont understand. It gets used to express a regular fear or a childhood fear or claim that some bad breakup is going to cause them PTSD. June is PTSD awareness month. Maybe we can use this month to make people more aware of what PTSD is and is NOT. PTSD is no laughing matter was the theme for the most recent fundraiser of OperationIV.org What do you think? Have you heard this recent trend of making PTSD a casual every day term for non-serious issues? Do you think were overreacting to hope that people wake up and take PTSD and other invisible wounds more seriously? Do you think that by NOT taking it seriously enough, it will make it worse for those who already deal with the very REAL stigma of PTSD to get the help they need? Weigh in or rant along....
