Lately there has been obsession with Somalis in the media. A piece of advise to all researchers, institutions that are trying to seek this as an opportunity whether its about you, exploiting your white privilege access, or for the govt. Stop studying us to see why we dont fit in your racist paradigm or trying to proof somehow we are all terrorist! Leave us alone. Our community that doesnt trust you anyway due to racism and the daily oppression did not request your research then find something else. Educate yourself on colonial history. Every time I am approached with the energy of white privilege and its not community driven I have an allergic reaction and reminds me of a post I shared late 2013 about white privilege. So I have decided every time I am approached with this kind of energy, I will share my experience. See below.
