Lately we have heard some confusion about WHO exactly we are and of course in relation to other Breeders in the area, are we connected in any way? China Shop is an independent breeder in the Northumberland County area. We are patently NOT affiliated with any other Breeders in our area. We are registered members of the Miniature Bull Terrier Club of Ontario (MBTCO - Salonge is the Vice President and Stephen is a Director with the club). We are full members of the Bull Terrier Club of America (BTCA), and of course members in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). As members of these clubs we are happy to be associated with some other great breeders all over North America and as Members we are held to highest standard of integrity and breeding programs to insure the betterment of our dogs in health, temperament and the eradication of genetic flaws in the breed. We are responsible to our Clubs and our Dog Owners to health test and provide documentation and proof that we do not breed specific genetic traits, PLL for example, and are in fact mandated by the Clubs NOT to breed any dogs possessing the genetic markers for the disease. China Shop supports local efforts by the SPCA by donations and by maintaining membership as full voting members with them. We also manage the Bull Terrier Rescue on this side of Toronto working with some very established long time Bullie Rescue people like Carol Gray and Barbara Jennette Bedell, organizing rescues, assessment, foster care and placement of Bull Terriers and Mini Bull Terriers needing forever homes.
