Later on today the weather is looking like its going to pick up with a hail and wind threat for the central part of the state. Grand Island, Holdredge, Hastings, and surrounding areas will see anything from scattered showers to severe thunderstorms. This threat will start west in the North Platte area and will move east as the day progresses. This movement east will allow for the chance for storms to intensify with the potential for golf ball size and smaller hail. Our concern with this is lack of daytime heating due to cloud debris from earlier storms and a stabilized atmosphere which is needed for storm development and intensification. Also, keep in my that this threat can tread south or stay east of the current watch area. Will update as we can.
