Latest BOM Update at 6.13pm: Bureau of Meteorology Queensland Regional Office TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in the Wide Bay and Burnett, Southeast Coast and parts of the Capricornia Forecast Districts. Issued at 6:13 pm Friday, 23 January 2015. Synoptic Situation: Thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain, which may lead to flash flooding, are expected to continue in the warning area this evening. Currently, the heaviest rain is occurring in the western Wide Bay and Burnett district associated with a thunderstorm near Mundubbera, and in the Caboolture area where recent hourly falls have peaked around 50mm. Heavier rain may redevelop later this evening. Locations which may be affected include Gold Coast, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Gympie, Bundaberg, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and islands, Kingaroy, Noosa, Hervey Bay, Fraser Island and Hervey Bay waters.
