Latest Coastal Waters Observations: 12/1/2015. (Mary) Weather Situation A high near New Zealand extends a weak ridge onto the east Queensland coast. A trough will move north along the New South Wales coast this morning, most likely entering southern Queensland waters this afternoon. There is some possibility a low will form on the trough over northern New South Wales waters and this could also shift north. The situation will be monitored carefully. The trough is expected to weaken during Tuesday with the ridge again dominating. Hervey Bay Waters Forecast: Forecast for Monday until midnight Winds Northeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas Below 1 metre. Swell North to northeasterly below 1 metre. Weather Partly cloudy. 60% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm inshore later tonight. Fraser Island Coastal Waters Forecast: Sandy Cape to Double Island Point: Forecast for Monday until midnight Winds Northeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas Below 1 metre.
