Latest DXs News 4S7 - SRI LANKA Sigi, DL7DF will lead a team to activate Sri Landa March 10-23. Pilot station for the operation will be Bernd, DF3CB. No call was available late last week. The team plans to operate 160-6 with several stations operating CW/SSB. One will be dedicated to RTTY/PSK31/SSTV. Radios will be 3-K2’s and an FT857D. Antennas will include 2 lowband verticals, a delta loop vertical for 40, and another for 30; 2 Spiderbeams; a 5L yagi for 6 and some beverages. QSL via DL7DF, direct or bureau. A35JP - TONGA Masa, JAØRQV will visit Nuku’alofa, Tongatapu Island (OC- 049) for the 6th time, March 14-20. He will be on a business trip so on the air activity will be limited to night and weekend (Tonga time). When possible he will work 80-6 on CW/SSB. QSL to his home call bureau or direct with SAE & 1 NEW IRC, or use LoTW. T88XT - PALAU David, VK3BY said back in January he had booked the Rent-ashack on Palau. It is to be a holiday with his wife, but he noted that the room is also the “radio-shack.” He expects to be there March 8-14. They will be sight-seeing but he said. “the rest of the time I will be playing radio.” This will be a SSB only operation as he doesn’t do CW and the gear in the shack cannot be used for digital for some reason. He didn’t say, but it is assumed you can QSL to his home call. VU4K - ANDAMAN Krish tells me he will be on the island by March 19th, but will be traveling to other islands including Nicobar for some logistics and will return to start operating full steam around March 22 and hope to stay on the air for 1 full week. This operation will be SSB/RTTY. There was a 5.1 tremor in Nicobar on Feb 28, and we know that the entire VU4 chain is an active tectonic zone. He advises DXers to check VU4K on QRZ for any late breaking updates. He plans to update the site with a frequency plan too. Relying on the HONOR SYSTEM, Krish plans to standby for callers 65 years or older; anyone needing VU4 for an ATNO (All Time New One) and for QRP stations.
