Latest IPad update from Midway is that the district is going to purchase the new IPad lite, and that they will be GRADUALLY phased in starting with the High School. The timeline for full implementation as we were promised is unknown. We were told one IPad for every student at all grade levels when the bond was being proposed. What is known now is that nothing is known now about that promise. When and if kids at all grade levels will get IPads is something the district is not prepared to divulge at this time. Meanwhile the IPad debacle with the LA unified school district just keeps getting worse. The bill to renew textbook subscriptions has caught LA school district officials by surprise coming in at 60 million per year. We warned the district about the cost of textbook subscriptions when they touted the IPad purchase as a cost saving measure which it obviously is not. LA is slowly painfully admitting this now. Hate to say we told ya so, but we told ya so.
