The 29-year-old Argentine midfielder signed officially with the North American Soccer League club this week, and his new clubs general manager, Dario Sala, took the long flight to Australia to welcome Flores into the fold. Flores leaves the A-League having played for four of its current 10 clubs; Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory, Central Coast Mariners and most recently Newcastle Jets. - Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold has signed Australian midfielder Robert Stambolziev until the end of the current A-League season. Jeggo is now a contender for the title of NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014-2015 along with October nominee Terry Antonis (Sydney FC) and November nominee Tomi Juric (Western Sydney Wanderers). The winner will be announced at the A-League and W-League 2014-2015 Awards Night on 11 May 2015. - Speculation that Wellington Phoenix striker Nathan Burns has attracted million-dollar offers from China is ridiculous, coach Ernie Merrick says. However, he confirmed the A-League club has been dealing with a team from China interested in Burns, with no offer received. Overseas reports claim Wellington turned down an offer of more than $931,000 from Shanghai Shenhua, holding out for double that for Burns, who is on international duty with Australia at the AFC Asian Cup. Burns, the A-Leagues top scorer with 10 goals after 14 rounds, is halfway through the first season of a two-year contract at Wellington after unsuccessful stints in Greece and South Korea. - Western Sydney Wanderers says it has no plans to move A-League or AFC Champions League games away from its Parramatta base. The Wanderers Pirtek Stadium home has struggled to accommodate the clubs fan base and a number of solutions have been proposed. Those include moving games to the Olympic Park, building a larger stadium in Sydneys west and increasing the capacity of Pirtek Stadium. Reports emerged again on Wednesday night the Wanderers were in negotiations to move matches, including one Sydney derby match with Sydney FC. - Japan midfielder Yojiro Takahagi emphasises hes no duplicate of Shinji Ono but he did get a rundown on his new club Western Sydney Wanderers from the superstar. Takahagi, 28, arrived in Sydney on Monday to begin a short-term AFC Champions League contract with the Wanderers, who start their defence of that trophy next month. Takahagi, who won two caps for Japan in 2013, has signed on for the Wanderers ACL group stage games and potential round-of-16 matches, along with compatriot and defender Yusuke Tanaka. - Goalkeeper Ben Kennedy has recommitted to Newcastle Jets until the end of the 2016-2017 A-League season, signing a two-year contract extension with the club. - Defender Jack Clisby has left Perth Glory and joined Melbourne City on a deal that will keep him at the A-League club until the end of the 2015-2016 season. Clisby, 22, will be available for Melbourne City’s first game after the AFC Asian Cup 2015 – at home to Western Sydney Wanderers on 1 February - after becoming the club’s first signing in 2015. - Newcastle Jets owner Nathan Tinkler has acknowledged the club needs to do things better off the paddock as well as on it after pledging to settle several outstanding debts amid on-going scrutiny from FFA into the franchises viability. Tinkler, who took over as chairman after the resignation last week of Ray Baartz, said he is working with the governing body to ease its anxieties and take the club forward. The Singapore-based businessman also insisted that a new CEO would be appointed within weeks to replace Robbie Middleby, who left the club along with Baartz, a move which prompted Tinkler into taking the reins. - Josh Rose has signed a two-year A-League contract extension with Central Coast Mariners. The 33-year-old has spent the last five seasons with the Mariners after he linked with the club back in 2010, making 147 appearances along the way. - Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold has been fined a record $5,000 after his post-match criticisms of A-League referees were found to have breached the FFA National Code of Conduct. Arnold was asked by FFA to explain comments he made criticising the level of A-League refereeing after Sydney FCs round 14 scoreless draw with Newcastle Jets on 3 January. - Brisbane Roar has released Macedonia striker Mensur Kurtishi by mutual consent. The 28 year-old struggled to cement a starting XI spot at the Roar, despite arriving at the beginning of the season with expectations of filling the gap left by former Brisbane and now Melbourne Victory striker Besart Berisha. - Central Coast Mariners had added to its squad with the signing of promising 17 year-old Dejan Pandurevic until the end of the 2014-2015 season. The tennager earned his first professional contract after completing his spell with Nike Academy in the United Kingdom - following in the footsteps of former Mariners midfielder Tom Rogic. He failed to land a British work permit, which denied him the opportunity to sign for interested clubs in England. Pandurevic played for Central Coasts youth team during 2013-2014 and is delighted to have penned his first professional deal just two days before his 18th birthday. - Perth Glory has signed 31-year old German winger Dragan Paljic as an injury replacement for Youssouf Hersi. Paljic, who has spent the last two-and-a-half years at Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo, has signed a deal until the end of the current A-League season. - And finally, Australia striker Tomi Juric has changed his mind at the eleventh hour and rejected (thank god!) a proposed $10 million move to China after holding talks with Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou over where he should pursue his club future. The Wanderers were believed to have accepted a $1.5-million-dollar transfer fee for a player who will most likely leave for free and the end of the season. Meanwhile the Wanderers have signed Yojiro Takhagi, Yusuke Tanaka and two Australians, striker Kerem Bulut (Great signing, possibly signed as Jurics replacement) and defender Sam Gallaway (released from Newcastle Jets), have all been added to the Wanderers ACL squad this month, though none of them have yet been signed on for the A-League, where the club is winless and bottom of the ladder.
