Latest Owen update. good news first: hearts doing fine. after 3 surgeries (including one following an episode of heart failure), heart function looks good. not so good news: lungs failed today. Its a huge set back for little Owen. They have put him on a machine called ECMO, which will bypass and enrich his blood while giving his lungs a much needed break. We just got to see him post-procedure & he looks good (all things considered). Its going to be a long process. Were profoundly sad right now, but hes receiving the best medical care in the world. youve all been so generous with your offers to assist us. honestly, were ok right now. now, were hopefully just waiting for his lungs to improve .
