Latest Pangkabuhayan Project Funds Info Ms. Daisy Porciuncula-Chiu, Funds Manager of the SoCAL Pangkabuhayan Projects in Tanay, is currently visiting the US and gave me a report of the funds handled by her group in Tanay composed of Jojo Cautivo, Astred Catuira-Miranda and Lorna Penalver. Based on the bank passbooks and statements, the funds total balance is P 204,272.85 as of Aug 17, 2013. There is still an uncollected amount of P50,000 and some change from various participants since the start of the project in 2009. However, Jojo is still trying to collect from them and last collection received was P5,600 and deposited on 4/12/12 to the account in Tanay Rural Bank which currently has an outstanding balance of P18,105.34. In 2011, the group transferred P180,000 to a short term time deposit with BPI with a 4.6% interest rate for one year making it P184,839.48 as of 11/29/12. Since then, BPI changed the time deposit to long term with a 2.9% interest rate increasing the total to P186,167.51 as of 6/30/13. From the initial funds sent to Tanay for the Pangakabuhayan Project in the amount of P249,000, we still have an outstanding balance of P204,272.85 with an uncollected amount of P5,000 plus. We have assisted more than 70 families in a period of less than three (3) years making their lives better. Some succeeded and some failed. We will continue to provide the much needed assistance to those who wanted to succeed in life and this time, on our fourth cycle, we will choose and monitor closely the recipients that will pursue their dreams through our means. I would like to request for more financial supports from you so we can make this project more viable, workable and profitable for the deserving recipients/participants. Please email me or call me if you are interested in helping our poor kababayans meet their dreams and support their families in the long run. Last but not least, I would like to thank Daisy Porciuncula-Chiu, Jojo Cautivo, Astred Catuira-Miranda and Lorna Penalver for their unwavering support and commitment to the cause of this wonderful project and to all those who have helped make this possible, like you! Thank you. Betsog
