The planning phase, which took months to adapt to our specific requests, was efficiently handled by email with Vanessa, Emily and Daniele. Our guides for our walking tour of Florence, the Vatican and Pompeii were exceptional as they led us personally through insights of not only facilities; but, the incredible history and art of your culture giving us a much greater appreciation and understanding of the development of all three areas throughout the ages…a little mind boggling for those of us from a country (USA) so much younger than yours. We appreciated the safe driving escort of both Massimiliano Pertecarini, who drove us from Florence to Rome and gave us our first brief overview of the city, and you, Alessandro Placidi, who so graciously accompanied us on the remainder of our stay in Italy. I cant imagine how we would have successfully experienced Rome and the Amalfi Coast without you in the limited time we had available to us for our trip. Every time we looked up you were there to meet our needs…on time and always watching for our return from ventures away from you. You readily recognized that our son was a professional photographer and my husband had a keen interest in capturing every experience that we had on film. Your knowledge of where the best photographic opportunities existed certainly enhanced their enjoyment of the trip. We returned with some 3,000 pictures of our adventures in Italy that will keep our memories alive and inspire friends and family to replicate our adventure. Your pride in the city of your birth was evident as you shared your incredible knowledge of the sites that most tourist expect to see when visiting; but, you went far beyond our expectations and shared not only amazing churches, art, structures, and history; but, gave us a feel for the people and politics.
