[Latest Tropical Disturbance Bulletin issued by the HKTCWC] Cyclone Watch, was issued at 06:00PM. Which means that a tropical disturbance or a tropical depression is now centered within 1200 kilometers of Hong Kong and it may affect us within the coming 72 hours. At 6PM, Tropical Disturbance 99w was centered about 430 kilometers south-southwest of Hong Kong and is forecast to move northwest slowly at first, west-northwest later in a general direction of Western Guangdong. In the last few hours, 99w was intensifying gradually. It is expected to intensify into a Tropical Depression tonight. For local weather, rainbands of 99w affected Hong Kong today. Mainly cloudy with a few showers were observed. Gale-forced mean wind were also recorded in Waglan Island in the afternoon. In the last hour, maximum sustained wind speed recorded at Star Ferry and Waglan Island are 38 and 66 kilometers per hour respectively.
