Sector - Business to Consumer Customer - Product Manager Description A business offers products to consumers online at list price. The marketing manager wants to launch a promo-code promotional campaign. Promo-codes will be used to drive up customer sales by attracting new customer to drive down the cost of acquisition, and reward returning customers. New customer will be able to view promo-codes on widely available public voucher website. Existing customers will also be sent targeted promo-codes via email based on specific customer attributes. For example, an existing customer who has not made any purchases for over 6 months may be sent a discount voucher with a higher reward to encourage their return. The product manager needs a method to add, change, remove and manage the lifecycle of promo-codes in a simple and user friendly manner. An interview with the product owner outlines the following requirements: 1. I need to be able to login to a system where I can then look after all my codes. Id like the rest of my team to be able to see the public codes but only I can change them. This needs to be linked to our main website so these vouchers are applied at checkout, but Im not worried about how this will work here. I just need somewhere to manage codes. 2. Id like a button to add a new promo-code. Id want to enter the name, start date, end date and the discount I want to provide. Of course, if the code already exists I dont want to create a new one of the same ID, or create a code that has an end date in the past! 3. Id like to restrict the code to be used for different types of customers, depending on the code I create. For example: a. Only new customer can use it b. Only existing customers can use it c. Only groups of existing customers can use it, like the ones who havent purchased anything in the last 6 months d. It can only be used once, or it can be used many times by the same customer 4. Id like to select what type of discount I can provide: i. %age reduction on full shop ii. Fixed discount of full shop iii. Free delivery 5. Id love to be able to see all my existing promo-codes and whether they are active or not, now many times they have been used and by what type of customer. I want to see at a glance all the information about these without having to keep opening each one to find out more about it. Download to Excel would be cool too. Can you make all the ones that are near expiry red too please, and maybe all the ones that are expired grey? 6. I need to be able to open existing codes to change them, oh, and delete them! Hmm, but I dont want to delete the history of whos used them, I just want to make them unavailable I guess so they cant be used again? 7. I want to see if anyone is abusing them, so if they can use them more than once and someone uses the same code loads of times I want to know! 8. Oh and finally, some simple MI on the codes, like some bar or pie charts on whos used them and when for what size basket. Ive not given this much thought yet but a couple of graphs would be amazing!
