At 6:50pm CDT the northwest Indian National Weather Service (NWS) has detected winds of 90 miles per hour over Crown Point, IN and has issued a tornado warning for Fulton and Pulaski in IN until 7:30pm CDT. At 7:08pm CDT a funnel cloud was sighted in Valparaso, IN. Latest western wave hook echo cell Tornado status: Classic hook echo cell tornado touchdown. The tornado has moved east out of Jo Davis county and the tornado warning for Jo Davis county has expired at 7:15 PM. The tornado is moving south east towards Mount Carol. Tornado Warning for Mount Carol, IL from the Quad Cities NWS issued at 7:12 PM CDT until 7:45 PM CDT. Second Wave of storms after Mount Carol, IL moves towards Summary of Watches and Warnings: A severe thunderstorm warning has at 7:30 pm CDT been issued by the NW IN NWS for Lake and Porter counties until 8:00 pm CDT. A Tornado watch for Lake, McHenry, Kane, Kendal, Dupage, Will, and Cook Counties until 9PM. Latest from me reporting from Island Lake, IL: black as night, lights flickering on and off, more transformers heard blowing, winds picking up, sky green, must send this message before power goes out. ComEd reports 10,000 customers without power in the Chicago area. Island Lake power outage from before at Roberts Rd has been fixed. Sending status now losing power. I hear tornado sirens in the distance and may transformers blowing. This account will continue to post every half hour if there is power.
