Latham Circle Intensity Defeat Kosmos Athena, 4-0, to Win the Girls-Under-16 Arch Capital Group Cup CONGRATS AGAIN U16 GIRLS!!!! By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association June 20, 2014-Goals by Ryann Augstell, Kelly Dufort, Casey Oliver and Gabrielle Pouchak gave Latham Circle Intensity of the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) the win over Kosmos Athena of the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL). The game for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association’s (ENYYSA) Girls-Under-16 Arch Capital Group Cup championship was played on June 7 at the Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview, Long Island. “Our girls were very focused and pressured the ball for all 80 minutes of the game to give us the championship,” commented Latham Circle coach Cesar Markovic. Latham Circle also received the Howard Rubenstein Sportsmanship Award as selected by game officials. Now retired and living in Ohio, the remarkable namesake of this award was seemingly involved in every facet of New York soccer for decades and is a member of the Halls of Fame of Eastern New York, the US Amateur Soccer Association and the Long Island Junior Soccer League.
