Laughter is perhaps one of the strongest driving goal I have to do - TopicsExpress

Laughter is perhaps one of the strongest driving goal I have to do anything. I will go out of my way for a good joke, even so far as spending time and money I dont necessarily have for a few extra laughs (See: Jose is Awful shirts). Hell, I even just moved to a new city to pursue a larger opportunity to eventually make even more people laugh through acting. Ive found that laughter is a bonding agent that adheres to everyone Ive ever met, a fast acting way to link people together, regardless of the differences that may divide them. Today I see this power at work with the loss of one of the greatest actors of all time, Robin Williams. The internet, radio, and TV are all exploding with tragic reports of his death, but alongside it Im watching thousands of people share their favorite movies, scenes, and memories that were provided by this phenomenal performer. From a goofy blue genie, to a dedicated cross dressing father, to a flamboyant nightclub owner, Robin Williams proved time and time again that he knew his way around the world of humor. Of course, not all of his roles were humorous, and in movies like Good Will hunting, Dead Poets Society, and Patch Adams, he proved his worth on the opposite end of the spectrum by making us cry. However, I know I personally will always remember him as one of my greatest comedic influences. While his contribution to the cinematic world will be greatly missed, I will choose to look at his death not as a standing dark shadow over the world of comedy, but a testament to the power of comedy and to the influence a few good laughs can have on the world. Rest well Genie, youre free.
