Launceston Cup Quarter Final Gunnislake 0-2 Pensilva This was always going to be a tough match for Pensilva after playing a physical match versus St Columb Major the day before where Gunnislake were fresh due to not having a fixture. Pensilva where guilty of missing two great chances early on in this match through Martyn Putt & Sam Rogers but the in form Jack Penhaligan came to their rescue on 22 minutes when Dylan Peel hit a fantastic 50 yard cross field pass to Penhaligan to show great skill beating 2 players and then firing in to the corner of the net. The match became more difficult for the away side when they had to play the final third of the match with 10 men after Aaron Varcoe was dismissed for a 2nd caution. It took Pensilva until the 85th minute to put this game to bed when the 3 substitutes combined which came when left back Marc Tuck played a long ball forward to Ashley Small who nutmegged a defender and then squared the ball back for Steve Rendle to fire home in to the roof of the net. The Man of the Match award went to Jamie Page who had a solid match in midfield.
