Laura Hamilton and I have not yet had the opportunity to present - TopicsExpress

Laura Hamilton and I have not yet had the opportunity to present our findings in the resent hat debate. Our premise was that competitors ridding their own horse should have freedom of choice based on the following facts. 1 There were no restrictions on competitors wearing kite marked safety hats. 2 SHGB do not indemnify competitors only judges. 3 There is no history of head injuries that would have been avoided by wearing a kite marked hat in the ring. 4 Research done by the Transport Research Laboratory for the MFHA showed no significant advantage to wearing a kite marked hat over a made to measure hunting cap. 5 The MFHA s insures are entirely happy with the findings of this research and hunt staff are given an unfettered choice of made to measure or kite marked hats 6 Of 109 judges available to comment 98 were in favour of freedom of choice 7 want the new hat rule and 4 abstained 14 of the top pros agreed to F of C as did six sponsors and a large number of members. At no time have we been involved in the SHGB and Grandstand Media discussions
