Laura Leigh and I are reflecting tonight as we enter this week our sixth year as pastor and wife of the wonderful people of God known as Prentiss Baptist church we are so highly privileged to pastor. We have Vacation Bible School at PBC starting in the morning at our church and we will work in it and then Laura Leigh and I will prepare to go to Baltimore, Md as messengers of our great church to the Southern Baptist Convention week after next. On a very personal note tonight Laura Leigh and I along with our folks Dr Dewey and Mary Jo Blackledge seek special prayers from our friends and church families for Dad and Mary Jo and all the family as Laura Leighs Dad is taking intensive chemo at UMC and his blood platlets are very low right now. Dad had to go back to UMC for more blood Friday and may still need more this week. We know he is facing more chemo treatments at UMC in a couple weeks but as we visited with him by phone this morning he wanted to go to his church FBC Laurel that his grandaddy Sam Lindsey, Sr. helped found and build where Dr Blackledge has been a active member since birth, the doctors today say his immune system is to low to be in crowds so he took their advice today and watched church on tv from home. I told him Friday with believing prayer for our Gods healing according to His will nobody can keep Dr. Dewey Blackledge down for long!!! Nahum 1:7
