Laura Rose, mum of Jack, film editor and Jack & Jill champion demonstrates through a short video what the Gala Up the Hill for Jack & Jill means to her son Jack Rose and family! People all around the country are getting their walking shoes on to climb a hill, big or small, in order to raise the much needed funds for Jack & Jill which is facing a €200,000 shortfall in funding this year. We’ve had all sorts of campaign reports in from families and supporters. Some hosting dinner parties and presenting a Hill of Food; others tacking Hills of Work as their effort to get behind this campaign in September. This video from Mum Laura Rose is just wonderful and we wanted to share it with everyone for inspiration to get those thinking caps out and walking shoes on and get going on your Gala Up the Hill for Jack & Jill. Registration for the event, which runs throughout the month of September, is now open and it is easy to get involved by registering online at jackandjill.ie/gala-up-the-hill-for-jack-and-jill/ and then dropping into one of the 200 Gala Retail stores nationwide to pick up the registration pack. Signing up costs €16, an all-important fee that will go towards funding one whole hour of nursing care for one of the 300 Jack & Jill children with life limiting or life threatening conditions based across every community in Ireland today. People can take part individually or in groups, big or small, and the location and the type of the hill is up to them. TheJournal.ie RollerCoaster.ie
